WHO WE ARE
ASM
Association of Music Supervisors

ASM is an association under the law of 1901, founded on March 25, 2020, which brings together nearly 30 music supervisors spread over 15 structures.

OUR MEMBERS

The music supervisor's mission is to bring the music for a film or series to a successful conclusion. Directors rely on their creative advice and practical expertise to build their soundtracks, whether using pre-existing or original music.

The supervisor is responsible for obtaining the exploitation rights for the titles featured in the film or series. In the case of original music, he or she is also responsible for liaising between the director, producer and composer, and for executive producing the recordings. In a way, it is the soundtrack's prime contractor for an audiovisual work.

ASM's mission is to act as an interlocutor for public authorities and professional associations, to act as a spokesperson for music supervisors, and to promote the role of music in the creative process for feature films, TV movies, series, documentaries and video games.

OUR MISSIONS
The music supervisor is a qualified professional who coordinates all aspects of music in the picture.

The music supervisor must understand the impact of music on images. He works in collaboration with all the decision-makers (directors, editors, producers, etc.) to determine the musical style best suited to the project.
